Benefits of practising pranayama

Pranayama removes the veil covering the light of knowledge and heralds the dawn of wisdom. That which covers the inner light is destroyed. The veil over the light of truth dissolves.

    1. The four elements, that is, the earth, the water, the fire and the air purify the contaminated and polluted objects.

    2. The human body is a combination of all five elements. The earth is in the form of solid matter in the human body. The water is in the form of fluids; the fire is in the form of heat and cold, the air is in the form of vital force and ether is in the form of cavities.

    3. Generally, the rate of respiration will be normal when the individual is relaxed, satisfied, fearless, consumes the normal quantity of food and does not indulge in any activities.
