Our Shareera has a wonderful power known as Maya. Maya is known as unmanifested.
Gunas are the natural qualities of human beings. These gunas are associated with Maya, the nature. They are also known as the evolutes of the nature. The three gunas in the individual that constituents Maya are: Tamo guna, Rajo guna and Sattva guna.
Tamo guna is the concealing power. Avarana shakthi pertains to tamoguna. Avarana means concealing, covering, shutting, closing. Avarana shakthi means the power which veils the real nature of things. Avarana shakthi leads to mental ignorance.
Rajo guna is of the nature of the action. When rajo guna predominates, one experiences varieties. Vikshepa shakthi pertains to rajo guna. Due to the influence of vikshepa shakthi the individual becomes active.
The rajasic characteristics are - Kama, Krodha, Lobha Dambha, Asuya, Ahamkara, Irshya and Matsara
Sattva guna is the pure quality or nature. Sattva guna means: pure mind, realization of one’s own self, supreme peace, contentment and joy.
Anatman is what is not atman.This anatman is the perishable body.
The Atman is the nature of pure existence. The Atman is generally referred to as the Supreme Soul, the Brahman. The Spirit. The Essence. The Atman is that which exists by itself. The Atman is not dependent on anything else for the manifestation of its existence. The Atman is self-dependent. The Atman is the witness of the three states –jagrat, swapna and sushupthi.
