Prathyahara is the fifth limb of ashtanga yoga Prathyahara means withdrawal of the senses from their objects.

    1. People cannot easily wean away from sensuous life. It is a strong force. They are used to identify their aims, goals, needs, and happiness with their sensuous activity.

    2. Indra is the king of the gods. He is placed first among the gods. Indra is the chief of all the secondary gods. His world is heaven.

    3. Indriya, the sense organ has the quality that belongs to Indra, that is, incontinence and adultery. Our senses behave in these ways.

    4. Each sense has an attraction for a pleasant aspect and an aversion for an unpleasant aspect. There is a pleasant or unpleasant feeling or experience through the eyes, the ears, the nose, the tongue and the skin.
