Abhyasa and vairagya help the mind to stop its business; check the mind to jump quickly from object to object. Practice and detachment are the means to still the moments of consciousness.

    1. Abhyasa and vairagya are the two most popular terms and important practices. Abhyasa means practice; a discipline. Abhyasa is an effort of mind to remain in its unmodified condition. In abhyasa, there is repetition.

    2. The control, that is, abhyasa practice becomes firm when you practice for a long period, without interruption and with devotion and being well-attended to it.

    3. That vairagya is higher due to the knowledge and to the qualities of the Purusha and to the indifference, that is due to non-attachment.
