  1. Section 1 The Avoidable Pain

    1. The past pain has already come and passed away. This pain had been spent. This pain does not come under avoidable pain.

    2. Drshya the knowable is of the nature of prakasha (sattva) illumination, kriya (rajas)activity and sthitih (tamas) inertia.

    3. The specialized and unspecialized, undifferentiated phenomenal and noumenal are the stages of the qualities.

  2. Section 2 Buddhi and consciousness

    1. The Seer is pure consciousness only; even though pure he cognizes ideas by imitation; appears to see through the mind; sees the bhavanas appeared in manas.

    2. Although the knowable is destroyed to him (whose objects have been achieved), that knowable is not destroyed because it is common to others.

    3. The knowledge from wrong perception, unreal cognition is avidya, ignorance. The reason for ignorance is the conjunction of the ignorant person with buddhi, the intellect.

    4. Removal of the disappearance of conjunction, on account of its disappearance, that leads to kaivalya, the absolute freedom of the knower.
