    1. Ahimsa is a practice to avoid injury to all living creatures.

    2. Sathya is a practice refraining from lying and betraying promises.

    3. Astheya means non-stealing; a restraint from taking away the belongings of others.

    4. Brahmacharya is an act of chaste behaviour leading to restoration of the powers.

    5. One should practice aparigraha, the spontaneous non-acceptance of gifts from others, even at times of calamity.
